Jasper Goodall: Twilight's PathExhibition extended due to popular demand until 31st July 4 Jun - 31 Jul 2021 MMX Gallery is delighted to present Twilight's Path by Jasper Goodall, an exhibition of evocative nocturnal landscapes taken after nightfall in the forests, and on the moors of the British Isles.
It will open as part of London Gallery Weekend on the 4th June 2021 and run until 17th July.
Goodall's nocturnal series Twilight's Path has been described as being at once beautiful and terrifying. The images reference notions of the Sublime in Romanticism; the idea that a kind of thrill of delight can be gleaned from viewing something terrifying. His images are an attempt to capture the stillness, the sense of hushed, waiting presence that is palpably felt between the dark boughs.

Katie Eleanor (b.1993) is a photographic artist living and working in London. She studied Photographic Arts from at University of Westminster, graduating in 2015.
Her practice revolves around illustrating enigmatic narratives that bridge the gap between fantasy and reality. The Luminograms are made from the most simple of procedures – directing light onto silver gelatin photo paper. However, it is that simplicity that allows Jackson to adapt his own way of thinking into the making of the finished piece. As he says, it’s as close as he can get in photography to painting.

Karel Doing: Circadian Maps26 Feb - 9 Apr 2016 Karel Doing is an experimental filmmaker who has been making films since the late 1980s. His early work was informed by the historical practice and experimentation of Dada filmmaking and he has acknowledged reference to the handmade manipulation of the material surface of film by the postwar American avant-garde. In this solo exhibition at MMX Gallery a series of works are shown as the result of experiments with
film emulsion. Instead of using light to expose the film, a reactive process aided by salt, mud, plants
and yeast has been used to produce the images. Pre-conceptual patterns, colours and structures
emerge that are subsequently deciphered and edited by the artist in a search for a different
relationship with nature. Instead of domination and exploitation a more sensitive approach in
dialogue with the endlessly complex micro-world of plants and minerals is sought.
