Sander Vos (b. 1988, The Netherlands) is a photographer based in London. His work contains an element of Surrealism, blending Fine Art with Portraiture.Vos sets out to veil as much as to reveal, leaving gaps for the viewer to fill in. Inspired by his background in Design, he embraces light and contrast as devices to carve out his graphic compositions.

Vos’s work has been exhibited and recognized internationally. He was recently announced as Fine Art Photographer of the Year 2023 by the The prix de la Photographie Paris and the reFocus Awards.

In Between The Shadows

The series ‘In Between the Shadows’ consists of structuraland geometric photographs that take their inspiration from the cubist movement.

The works aim to challenge the conventional perception of depth within the medium of photography by showing different viewpoints at the same time and within the same space. The chiaroscuro lighting embraces shadows and light as juxta- positional tools to deconstruct familiar objects and transform them into surreal compositions.

We are delighted at MMX Gallery to have previewed Sanders’ recent series In Between The Shadows at the London Art Fair in January with a selection of prints and at Photo London at the Somerset House this May.

You can view some selected prints in ‘Works’ pages or if you would like to receive the List of all currently available works and prices, please email info@mmxgallery.com
