"The smallness of size seemed to me to condense the impact into a more forceful result. I imagine them to be like little hot chilli peppers. The intensity of the print could be increased by working boldly and strongly - and by organising the individual elements within the composition to overlap, mirror and balance with all the other elements. The colour palette that I use is very much based on a mixture of more gentle and submissive blues, burnt umbers and raw siennas along with bold and exciting passages of vibrant oranges and reds. The base colour is applied with light and then controlled using different strengths and ages of chemicals that are selectively applied to the paper in the final stages." Mike G Jackson Michael G Jackson is an experimental photographer based in North Dorset, England. He studied art at West Dean College in Sussex, then apprenticed under landscape painter Christopher W Baker and later discovered his passion for photography. He moved away from working with traditional camera techniques in 2015 and is currently progressing the Luminogram process into new directions in which he has become regarded as a leading practitioner. His work has been exhibited internationally and is part of various private and museum collections including The National Art Gallery in Washington, USA.
