About

MMX Gallery was founded in a former photography studio in London in 2014 by Mark and Magdalena Shackleton. The gallery uses photography as a catalyst to exhibit new and established photographers and photographic artists.

Encompassing a strong aesthetic and creative energy that manifests itself through their exhibited photographers use of personal techniques that brings a unique and timeless vision.

As well as discovering new artists and nurturing their ways of seeing, MMX Gallery also unearths previously hidden archives to realise the continuing magnetism of vintage prints.

Ranging from the abstract to the documentary, the image is everything and is celebrated by the gallery with conviction and belief that what is seen is to be treasured, creating and harbouring that first emotional response to images is the backbone that drives the gallery.

Their exhibitions were featured in the British Journal of PhotographyBlack and White Photography MagazineL'oeil de la Photographie, Creative Reviewthe Guardian, Financial Times, and more (please view the Press page here).

The gallery ventured into the photography art fairs with Photo London since 2017 and London Art Fair since 2021.

MMX Gallery's represented artists work has been acquired by numerous international private collections and institutions.
